League of Women Voters and Alabama Secretary of State Voter ID Mobile Unit to provide free voter identification

The 'Spring Voter Drive Up/Walk Up' will be held at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. this Saturday.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — If you're in need of a voter ID, The League of Women Voters of the Tennessee Valley has got you covered.

The group is partnering with the Alabama's Secretary of State Voter ID Mobile Unit to host a "Spring Voter Drive Up/Walk Up".

"If you need an ID to vote, this is your opportunity in Madison County to come on out and get a voter ID," says League of Women Voters of the Tennessee Valley President, Kathleen Leonard.

Participants can register to vote, receive a free voter photo ID, or have their questions answered.

It'll be held at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. this Saturday, March 27th. Leaders say it's also a good time to check on your voter registration status.

"Earlier this year, we're on a four-year cycle to clean up the voter registration rolls. So, sometimes people will get dropped during this process. So, it's really important to check your voter registration to see if you're still registered and so they can get help with this if they come by the library," says Leonard.

Leonard also says don't wait until it's too late to check your voter registration status.

"Don't wait for an election. Check it on your birthday, or check it on your anniversary. Just pick some time that is special to you that you can remember to check," says Leonard.

To obtain a voter photo ID, you must bring sufficient identification listed below:

Non-Valid ID (expired license, student id)

Birth Certificate

Marriage Record

Medicare/Medicaid document

Social Security Document

State/Federal Census Record

Hospital/Nursing Home Record

or Certificate of Citizenship Record.
