HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A seventh-grade student at Liberty Middle School died Tuesday afternoon following a medical emergency on campus. The student has been identified as Morgan Williams.
Principal Shannon Brown of Liberty Middle School issued a statement Wednesday afternoon addressing the tragic event:
LMS Families,
It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community.
Yesterday, Morgan Williams, a 7th grade student, experienced a medical emergency on campus and sadly passed away. This loss has and will raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students.
Madison City Schools has a Crisis Intervention Team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this. At LMS, we have counselors available for students who may need any type of assistance surrounding this loss. These individuals will be at LMS for the remainder of the week to assist. We encourage you, as parents, to also feel free to use our resources.
We are saddened by this loss to our school community and will make every effort to help you and your child as needed. Please keep the Williams family in your thoughts.
