Suspect in Limestone County arson case under arrest

The man is charged with First Degree Arson and two counts of Attempted Murder.

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — UPDATE: The Limestone County Sheriff's Office says an arrest has been made in an arson case that heavily damaged a home on Keeton Rd. near East Limestone High School.

According to investigators, a house was intentionally set on fire in the 27000 Block of Keeton Rd. The suspect, Dominic Edward Germain, allegedly set fire to the house with two people in it. Germain left the scene, and the two people inside were able to escape.

Germain has been charged with First Degree Arson and Two Counts of Attempted Murder. He is being held in the Limestone County Jail, and bond has not yet been set.

Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin thanked the County Fire Departments, the State Fire Marshal's Office, and the deputies and investigators who responded to the scene.

Investigators in Limestone County are looking for information on a person who intentionally set a house on fire in Limestone County.

East Limestone Fire Chief Tony Kirk said that they were called to a report of a couch on fire in a home and that the fire was started intentionally. No one was inside the home and no firefighters were injured.
