LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — Applications are open for Pre-K, District Choice, and School Choice programs in Limestone County.
First Class Pre-K
Pre-k enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year ends on March 18. To be eligible, children must be 4 on or before September 1, 2022.
- Monthly tuition is required and based on a family income sliding scale
- Tuition ranges from $40 to $300 per month
- Virtual Lottery Drawing: March 22nd in the LCS Boardroom with recording posted on the district's website.

Limestone County District and School Choice
Applications for District and School Choice for the 2022-2023 school year are open through March 24 at 4:30 p.m.
According to the Limestone County Schools Facebook page:
Students living in the Limestone County School District who are wanting to attend a school outside of where they are zoned should apply, as well as those students who live outside of the Limestone County School District and wish to attend a Limestone County School.
Application forms can be found on the district website at https://www.lcsk12.org/schooldistrictchoice. They may be dropped off at the Central Office located at 300 South Jefferson Street in Athens.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, March 24 at 4:30 p.m. No late applications will be considered except in the case of extreme hardship.
Any student who participated in district/school choice last year will not have to re-apply.
Parents/Guardians will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of your application via U.S. Mail no later than May 1, 2021.
Please note that a tuition fee must be paid for students to participate in District Choice. This fee must be paid to Limestone County Schools by money order, cashier’s check, or cash upon notification of acceptance into the Limestone County School system.
