LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents about scam calls that appear to be from their office. Some people have reported receiving calls claiming they have an active arrest warrant and must pay a fine electronically.

According to a social media post from the sheriff, the department will never ask for payment over the phone for any warrants.

If you receive a call like this, the sheriff warns that it is a scam and urges you to report it to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
