JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Lindsay Lane fell to Bayshore Christian by a final of 8-4 on Friday morning. The loss marks the end of Lions season, as they finish runner-up to the Eagles in the AHSAA Baseball Class 1A State Championship Series.
"We came here with an expectation that we were going to win it," said Lindsay Lane Head Baseball Coach Charles Morrison. "It stings because our guys felt like they could win the series. I really encouraged those guys and let them know it stings today but you guys have nothing to hold your head down about. It's a tight knit group. It's a good group of kids."
This is the second consecutive season Bayshore has swept the AHSAA Championship Series. The Eagles have only been eligible for championship for two seasons. The program now has titles in each of its first two years of eligibility.
