HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Officials with the University of Alabama in Huntsville confirmed that an accidental shooting took place Friday on campus.
UAH says the incident happened in the parking lot at the Material Sciences Building on John Wright Dr. NW.
In a brief statement to FOX54 Friday afternoon, UAH said a student accidentally shot themselves in their car.
The student was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
UAH stressed there is no danger to the public or the campus.
