Crews with Huntsville Utilities are working to restore power after an issue at a substation resulted in a widespread loss of services in northwest Madison County on Friday afternoon.
According to a statement from the company made just before 5 p.m., about 60,000 customers are impacted. They confirmed the issue is at a substation and that crews are working to repair the fault.
It is not known at this time what caused the power cut.
Service will be restored as soon as possible, Huntsville Utilities said.
