HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As Memorial Day approaches, people across North Alabama are preparing for a mix of closures and openings in observance of the holiday.
Here's what to expect:
Closures
- The Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) offices will be closed. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28, at 8 a.m.
- Municipal offices in cities across North Alabama, including Animal Services, Public Transit, and Municipal Courts, will also be closed. These offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, at 8 a.m.
- Huntsville Museum of Art
- EarlyWorks Children's Museum
- Federal offices, state offices, and municipal offices will all remain closed for the holiday.
- Banks and many financial institutions, along with U.S. postal service locations, will be closed.
- Public libraries will not be open for the holiday.

Openings
- The Huntsville/Madison County Visitor Center at 500 Church Street NW and the visitor Information kiosk inside Huntsville International Airport will be operate regular hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Huntsville Botanical Garden, US Space and Rocket Center, and Topgolf will remain open.
- Splash pads at City of Huntsville Parks & Recreation facilities will also be open.
