GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — Guntersville Police are asking people who may have had trouble with consignment sales at a local boat dealership to come forward as they continue a fraud investigation.

Police said a search warrant was executed Friday at Boat Mart with the assistance of the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Drug Task Force, and the county District Attorney's Office.

They said the warrant was based on evidence that the dealership was selling boats on consignment without following through on payments to boat owners when their vessels were sold.

The Guntersville Police Department says the case remains an open investigation. They urge anyone who believes they may have been victimized by the dealership in similar circumstances to report the incidents.

You can call 256-571-7571 or email investigations@guntersvilleal.gov.

No arrests were announced in Friday's statement. Police say charges could be brought forward after evidence is collected and thoroughly reviewed.
