HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — UPDATE: Huntsville Police said 31-year-old Kelan Deshaune Lucky was charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied building. They have not been made aware of anyone who has been shot.

Records show that Lucky was released from Madison County Jail on Sunday.

Previous Coverage: Police say one person was arrested early Sunday morning following a shooting near a popular downtown Huntsville nightlife area.

Huntsville Police investigators say the shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Jefferson Street.

When they arrived, police found two people believed involved inside a business in that area, though they did not specify which. Businesses in that area include Sammy T's Music Hall and the Jefferson Street Pub.

Police believe the two people were involved in an altercation with others outside the business when one of the two pulled out a gun and fired.

No one appeared to have been injured in the shooting, police said, and one of the two people they originally made contact with ended up arrested. No charges were initially announced.

An investigation is ongoing.
