HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A crash on I-565 in Huntsville on Saturday claimed the life of a Decatur student.

18-year-old Josiah Flood was killed in the motorcycle crash, according to family friend Tim Hall of Marshall County Schools. Flood was a senior at Austin High School.

Hall, speaking for Flood's mother, said that Josiah played football last season at Austin. The teen leaves behind his mother, father, brothers, and a sister who just graduated from Austin.

"Josiah was kind, smart, fun loving, and he loved God and his family so very much." Hall said. "Tragic accidents are always so difficult, but they are especially hard during the holidays."

To that end, Hall has set up a GoFundMe to raise funds for Flood's final expenses, to which Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling has contributed.
