MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. — Muscle Shoals Police Department confirmed an officer-involved shooting incident took place Sunday evening.
In a brief statement posted to their Facebook account just after 7 p.m., police said the incident took place on Tuxedo Avenue, just west of Gattman Park.
"As protocol, The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) was called to the scene and the investigation was turned over to their agency," they said in part.
There were no immediate details about whether anyone had been injured as a result of the shooting. Police added "The officers involved are on Administrative Leave per protocol."
They said more information will be released once it becomes available through ALEA.
