Local students use remote technology to thank first responders

Email and Zoom allowed kindergarten and 1st graders to collaborate on a "Thank you!" video

MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — Time off school doesn't mean a time out from creativity...or kindness.

Legacy Elementary’s kindergarten and 1st grade teachers collaborated with one another through email and Zoom to create a YouTube video to send to all those on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.

The students created thank you pictures from home, then submitted them to teachers using a variety of software. The photos were assembled into a video so the students could remotely say, "Thank you!" to health care workers and first responders.
