HILLSBORO, Ala — Scattered thunderstorms that passed through North Alabama over the weekend showed nature's force and disrupted some fun along the way.
Spotty winds in Hillsboro turned a nice mild Sunday sabbath into an angry-blowing thunderstorm in minutes, in footage shot by resident Joshua Cofield.
As folks scrambled for cover, the bounce house took a cartwheel into the air and across a gathering area. Tents were also blown down.
Fortunately, no one appeared to be in the giant inflatable at the time of the storm. Minor scrapes were reported as a result of the tent collapse.
The storm also caused some area tree damage and downed power lines.
