MADISON, Ala. — West Madison Pre-K was dedicated today as the first standalone pre-k in the Madison City School system.
The ribbon cutting ceremony noted the growth of the pre-K program and the need to move into a new building. Such growth allowed the Madison City School system to build a new elementary school, which broke ground last month.
The building is the former West Madison Elementary but has been converted for pre-school use.
The school has twelve classrooms for teaching and can hold an estimated 216 students. Each classroom has two teachers leading lessons.
