MADISON, Ala. — Today many people joined Madison Mayor Paul Finley in his address to the business community. The mayor discussed many things including all of the growth happening around the city of Madison.

One big announcement was a new interchange is in the works for Town Madison.

"It's the full interchange. Folks from Huntsville can get into Town Madison, folks from Decatur could leave Town Madison," says Mayor Finely. "But it's not only about Town Madison, it's about the folks down Zerdt Road in Triana, down in that Huntsville area. And it's also Gate 7. It makes a big difference for this entire community. But boy, this is 500 acres of town. Madison just completely are exposed open when the interchange comes."

Expansion is also evident with Toyota Mazda announcing 350 new jobs coming to the area.

"As you have these organizations about every week talk about expansion or bringing folks here. We don't take it for granted, but it's almost happening every week. And that happens because nobody cares who gets the credit. Everybody's working hard to make this the best community, and that's where success is coming from right now."

Mayor Finley says even though the growth is a positive thing. Managing the rapid growth can be a challenge.

'"The key is making sure we don't overburden the school system, but we also want economic development. So it is something that you kind of have to find a balance. Working with our city council, I think we've done a pretty darn good job, but we're going to continue to work harder."
