DECATUR, Ala. — A man wanted for sexual abuse charges to a 13 year-old turned himself in to authorities on November 29.
Decatur Police says they received a report of sexual abuse that happened by 47 year-old Starsky Vashan King located at Robinhood Way SW in Decatur on July 1.
After investigation, DPD says they were familiar with King and his sex offender status due to him and his wife previously asking if they could live on Robinhood Way. It was determined by police that King was residing at the residence, which is a non-compliant address for an adult sex offender to live due to being located within 2,000 feet of multiple child care facilities. King had been registering an address in Courtland, Alabama, and failed to update authorities on where he was living.
DPD says warrants were issued for King’s arrest for sexual abuse in the second degree, adult sex offender, prohibited residence location, and adult sex offender - registration with local law enforcement.
King was taken in custody and transported to the Morgan County Jail. He is now being held on $150,000 bond.
