MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. — Marshall County Schools have partnered with Reach University to assist their educators.
The Marshall County Board of Education made the agreement with Reach University on Tuesday, marking a step toward supporting local teachers. Under this program, current school employees will have the opportunity to pursue higher education while continuing their work in the classroom.
Superintendent of Education, Dr. Cindy Wigley, says this is a unique program that opens the doors for talented staff who need flexibility, support and encouragement to finish their education and head to the classroom.
Participants in the program will receive academic credits based on their existing work with students, requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week in an educational setting. The program in Marshall County will start this upcoming school year.
