MCALLEN, Texas — Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims recently took to social media to share insights from his trip to the southern border near McAllen, Texas. He spent three days there with other sheriffs and legislators to understand how illegal immigration is impacting local communities.

During the visit, he noted that he learned about the challenges posed by the influx of illegal immigrants and drugs. Sheriff Sims expressed concern over the Biden-Harris administration's policies, stating that every state in the union is now a border state. Sims also stated that he believes President Biden has the authority to take action without congressional approval but has chosen not to do so.

Sims also extended his gratitude to Senator Wes Kitchens and Representatives Jeana Ross and Brock Colvin for their involvement in the event.
