MADISON, Ala. — Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) announced that they are giving grants totaling $170,000 to 21 local nonprofits through their MTM Grant Fund.

“This grant fund cycle was extremely competitive, with many incredibly deserving nonprofits,” offered MTM Vice President of Administration, Rhonda Gilyard. “Our Grant Fund Committee was able to hear from the nonprofits themselves about their programs and their organizations’ missions – it was an informative, eye-opening experience for our team.”

This was the second time that MTM had hosted their nonprofit partners for an in-person grant fund pitch at the AIDT/MTM Training and Assessment Center in Madison. For their spring 2024 grant cycle, MTM received over 80 applications for funding – totaling over $2 million in requests. From those applicants, MTM’s committee heard from 21 finalists who then received funding ranging from $15,000 to $1,000 grants.

“We love for our team to hear from our nonprofit partners in person, which helps them make the final decisions on funding amounts for every program,” explained Jessica Luther, External Affairs Specialist at MTM. “We know it is the people and the passion behind these organizations that are the engine to drive their mission, and it is so impactful to hear it in their words.”
