Mazda-Toyota plant opening delayed due to COVID-19

The plant, expected to employ 4,000 people, won't be opening until later than expected, in 2021.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The COVID-19 pandemic will impact the opening of the Mazda-Toyota plant under construction in north Alabama.

The opening will happen later in 2021.

The $1.6 billion dollar plant will employ 4,000 people and build SUVs. Mazda-Toyota tweeted out a message about the delay:
