HARVEST, Ala. — Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff's Office say one person was injured in what they believe to be a road rage shooting. The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, near the intersection of Highway 53 and Jeff Road in Harvest.

The sheriff's office had few details to pass along, but in a social media post Thursday afternoon said one person had been confirmed injured. "Deputies administered first aid and other lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived," they wrote. The person was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Their condition is not known as of Thursday night.

Officials did not have any information regarding a suspect or vehicle. A portion of Highway 53 was closed to traffic during the on-scene investigation of the incident.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
