HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — UPDATE 8:30 a.m.: The fire, which began in a detached garage due to an unattended controlled burn, is under control. The garage remains partially intact. According to the Moores Mill Volunteer Fire Department, there were no injuries.
Crews with the Moores Mill Volunteer Fire Department say they are working a structure fire Wednesday morning. The blaze, which began around 6:37 a.m., is located near the intersection of Bell Factory Road, Steakly Road, and Pine Drive.
Firefighters from Moores Mill, along with New Market Volunteer Fire, Central Fire and EMS, and Huntsville Fire, are on the scene. As of 7:31 a.m., the fire is under control, but crews are still working to fully extinguish it.
Residents and commuters are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes due to significant traffic delays and possible road closures. Those traveling through the area should plan for extra time and consider different routes this morning.
