Morgan County seeing significant increase in COVID-19 cases

"161 of the cases have occurred over the past two weeks. So 60% of the cases have actually occurred since we relaxed the rules," said ADPH Administrator Judy Smith.

DECATUR, Ala. — Decatur city leaders are concerned about the growing number of positive  cases.

Since the reopening process began, Morgan County has seen a significant increase of COVID-19.

The Alabama Department of Public Health Administrator for the Northern District, Judy Smith said it's time for everyone to take personal responsibility and do what's best for the community.

"Roughly two months ago Morgan County had its first case of COVID. It's been even tougher the last two weeks. 161 of those cases have occurred over the past two weeks. So 60% of the cases have actually occurred since we relaxed the rules. We hold the responsibility from where we go with this in our hands."
