FLORENCE, Ala. — The Tombigbee Public Parking Deck is now open in downtown Florence.
The City held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning, where Mayor Andy Betterton, Roy Anderson and the Downtown Florence Alliance made remarks.
The new six-level parking deck is located at the corner of Pine and Tombigbee Streets. There are 273 spaces for cars and 23 spaces for motorcycles. The deck is cashless, so patrons pay by card at the exit after inserting their ticket. Rates are set at $0.50 per hour, with a daily maximum of $4.00.
It is equipped with security cameras and parking attendants on-site Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. A 24-hour assistance button also connects users with a representative.
“The Tombigbee Public Parking Deck is a valuable addition to our city’s infrastructure, enhancing accessibility to our vibrant downtown," Mayor Betterton says. "This project reflects Florence’s commitment to growth and to creating a safe, convenient environment for residents and visitors. We look forward to seeing our community utilize the new parking resource, especially as we enter the holiday season.”
As a special holiday parking perk, the Tennessee Street Parking Deck will remain open for free parking until Jan. 1, 2025.
