HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday morning at the new office, which is located at the Madison County Service Center in Madison.
The new ALEA Driver License Division office in Madison is officially open. Local leaders say it’s one step in the right direction of fixing a long-time issue.
The office will serve as another state office for residents to use for driver’s license services, license testing, and driver’s road testing.
Madison Mayor Paul Finley says he’s aware there’s been a need for more efficient license operations in the area. He adds, the commute and wait could be inconvenient with just one office with testing services in Huntsville.
Madison Mayor Paul Finley says during the ribbon cutting, “If you’re a parent in the city of Madison or in western Limestone county and you have children and you’ve had to get a driver’s license-- you know what’s it’s taken to do that… This facility continues to be a benefit for our city and for our county and for our area.”
