GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — The new Guntersville High School is scheduled to open at the end of 2024.
According to Guntersville City Schools Superintendent Jason Barnett, the district is excited about the new building. He says that while the exterior is impressive, the interior will offer an excellent learning environment. Faculty, staff, and maintenance crews are set to move into the building in December, with students expected to start their spring semester there in January 2025.
Although there had been hopes for an earlier move-in this October, Superintendent Barnett stated in a social media post that finishing touches and final details need to be completed first. Sticking to the original Winter Break timeline will ensure that everything is done correctly.
Barnett says they will keep everyone updated on the transition and encouraged patience as preparations continue. A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held to celebrate the new facility.
