HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As the new fiscal year starts for the City of Huntsville you might want to pay attention to what's in store for the new year.
One thing coming to the Rocket City is funding for new sidewalks. The City of Huntsville says they plan to start 15 projects totaling in 3.2 miles of new sidewalk construction throughout the city.
“Providing more money for sidewalk construction is something we’re excited to include in this budget,” Mayor Tommy Battle said. “Sidewalks bond our neighborhoods and communities, and to build 15 new sidewalks further promotes Huntsville as a desirable place to live and raise a family.”
Huntsville staff are still determining where exactly these projects will take place however, residents can expect the sidewalks to be installed by the end of the year.
