Huntsville community shares New Year's Resolutions for 2024

FOX54 took a stroll in downtown Huntsville to hear what New Year's Resolutions the community is looking forward to accomplishing this year.

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — According to the Chamber of Commerce, the most popular New Year's Resolutions every year include, eating healthier, being more active, and managing finances better. FOX54 took a stroll in downtown Huntsville to hear firsthand from the community.

Jerell Obi-Osang said her New Year's Resolutions for this coming up year include being healthy, staying healthy, and also maintaining her relationship with God. "That's really important to me. My faith is very important. I want to grow my faith in Jesus," she said.

As for Bailee Thomas, she wants to do better in school, "... and not goof off," she added. Thomas also shared one of her most memorable moments 2023. "Being able to see Taylor Swift in concert."

Serjio and Anna Velasquez are looking forward to hopefully purchasing a home in 2024, and also share a very sentimental highlight of their 2023. "We got married. We got married in March. We were best friends in in ninth grade."

After they briefly lost touch, Serjio messaged Anna on Instagram - a message she admits she deleted, sight unseen. "And then he messaged me again asking if I went to Epic Church... and then we just started going to church together."

Miranda Kaiser is looking forward to spending more time with her kids and traveling in 2024, but that's not all. "Looking forward to a vacation this year. We're hoping to go to the beach."

Kaylan Kimball is looking forward to her opportunity for self- improvement in 2024 and share a word of advice. " I think the best piece of advice I could give to anyone looking to do the same is try to just look for whatever you can. and even if it's something small, nothing is too small and nothing is too big if you put your mind to it. and that's so cliché, but like you got this, you got this."
