MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — Phase One of the repairs to U.S. 231 on Brindlee Mountain in Morgan County is complete.
The roadway was heavily damaged by landslides and over 200 thousand cubic yards of loose rock were removed.
The next step is Phase Two, the construction of twin bridges that will span the mountainside between Morgan City and Lacey's Spring.
ALDOT hopes to fully reopen the road before December 2.
