Happenings in North Alabama the weekend of July 5-7

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This weekend has some events to keep in mind! 

The Market at MidCity - Every Sunday until November 10, from noon to 4 p.m., featuring 50 local vendors.

Athens Lions Club Kiddie Carnival - Rides priced at one 50-cent ticket each. The carnival runs Thursday through Saturday evenings until July 27. 

Summer Sounds at the Joe - Music lovers can listen  to live tunes at the new Summer Sounds series at Joe Davis Stadium starting July 5. The event features music, food, and drinks on the West Terrace, with free parking and admission.

Rocket City Trash Panda Games - The Rocket City Trash Pandas will face off against the Birmingham Barons on July 5 and 6 at Toyota Field, with Friday and Saturday night featuring fireworks after the games.

Home Depot Kids Workshops - Held on the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at locations in North Huntsville, South Huntsville, and West Huntsville.

Celtic Slow Music Session - A monthly gathering of musical artists at a local venue features a variety of tunes chosen to be relaxing and uplifting, held on the first Sunday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m.

Guided Hike at Rainbow Mountain - Participants during this hike will travel along one of the most popular trails on the preserve, Rainbow Loop Trail on July 6 from 9 to 11 a.m. 

Huntsville Cars and Coffee - This free event is held the first Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. of every month rain or shine at the Mid City District.

Huntsville Speedway - Happening on Saturday night, July 6. Featuring the Open Wheel Modifieds, STAR SuperTrucks, Sportsman, and Pure Stocks, along with racing in the Super Stock, Dealers Auto Auction Buzz, and Hot Shot divisions. 

Beginner Sushi Class (Huntsville) - Learn how to make perfect sushi rice, all of the sauces, where to buy ingredients and how to safely serve raw fish at home. 

USA Table Tennis National Championships - The USA Table Tennis Nationals will be from July 3-7 at the VBC.

Mullet and Mustache Contest - Happening at The Camp on Saturday at 8 p.m.
