HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Residents in North Alabama should prepare for changes to city services and office closures due to the Independence Day holiday on July 4th.
Decatur:
- The Sanitation Department will change its garbage collection schedule.
- Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday, July 5.
- Friday's routes will be collected on Monday, July 8.
- City Hall will be closed on Thursday, July 4.
Athens:
- City offices will be closed on July 4 and July 5.
- Sanitation services will run as usual; have bins at the curb by 6 a.m.
- A fireworks show will take place at 8 p.m. from the stadium, weather permitting.
Huntsville:
- City offices, including Animal Services, Public Transit, and Municipal Court, will be closed on July 4 and will reopen on Friday, July 5, at 8 a.m.
- Garbage collection will be delayed during the week of July 1-5. Residents should leave their carts at the curb until collected.
- Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed, except for splash pads, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Essential police and fire personnel will be on duty throughout the holiday.
Madison:
- Municipal offices will close Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. This includes Animal Control, and Municipal Court. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday, July 5.
- Trash Collection will not run Thursday, July 4 and will resume next Thursday, July 11.
- Garbage Collection delayed by one day.
- Dublin Park indoor facility will be closed July 4.
- Municipal Court will be closed July 4 and July 5.
Tuscumbia:
- City offices will be closed on July 4
- All Garbage Pickup will run 1 day early
Florence:
- City offices will be closed on July 4.
- Sanitation services will follow regular schedules for Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday's collection will be on Friday, and Friday's collection will be on Saturday.
Fort Payne:
- Sanitation will run normal routes this week, including Thursday, July 4.
- All other city buildings will be closed on July 4 and 5.
