HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This weekend has some events to keep in mind! 

The Market at MidCity - Every Sunday until November 10, from noon to 4 p.m., featuring 50 local vendors.

Athens Lions Club Kiddie Carnival - Rides priced at one 50-cent ticket each. The carnival runs Thursday through Saturday evenings until July 27. 

A Journey into Imagimation Exhibit - Showcasing over 100 years of global animation art! Explore this experience at the Huntsville Museum of Art from July 12 to September 29. 

Food Truck Rally at Big Spring Park - Every third Friday from May to October, 5 to 9 p.m., enjoy food trucks, live music, yard games, and fun activities. 

Fun Fridays with P&L - Fun Fridays with Piper & Leaf, happening every Friday from April 26 to October 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. Enjoy an evening of activities, refreshments, and entertainment each week.

W.C. Handy Music Festival 2024 - The W.C. Handy Music Festival is set to take place from July 19 to July 28, 2024. This weeklong celebration honors the rich musical heritage of northwest Alabama and pays tribute to Florence native W.C. Handy, famously known as the "Father of the Blues."

Back to School Bash (Huntsville) - Huntsville Parks & Recreation, Huntsville Police Department, and Free 2 Teach will host a Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jaycee Community Building, located at 2180 Airport Road. Activities include dunking your principal, an inflatable waterslide, a petting zoo, prize giveaways, free sports physicals provided by HEALS, and live music. 

Back to School BBQ Bash (Huntsville) Join the 3rd annual "Back to School BBQ Bash" supporting Free 2 Teach, a nonprofit assisting Madison County teachers with free resources. People can enjoy BBQ, live music, lawn games, bounce houses, prizes, and sno cones. 

Back to School Bash (Priceville) - Enjoy free backpacks, food, water slides, face painting, sack races, and vendors. 

Back to School Bash (Decatur) - People can receive free school supplies, enjoy games, food, haircuts, and giveaways. 

SE Family YMCA Members Back to School Bash - Back to School Bash on Friday, July 26 from 5 to 7 p.m.!

Virtual Tour: Smithsonian Museum of Natural History -  A virtual tour of the Smithsonian’s David H. Koch Hall of Fossils, with narrated videos by experts and museum staff.

Light Up the Night at Big Spring Park -  Enjoy music, dancing, and glow party fun with free light-up party favors for kids while supplies last. Event has been postponed to August 16!

Roots & Shoots Farmer’s Market - Every fourth Saturday from June to August, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. 

Craft Supply Swap - From July 15 to July 27, you can donate new or gently used craft supplies at the Downtown Huntsville Public Library Information Desk or the Downtown Studio. Craft swap is on July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.

A Midsummer’s Night Organ Concert - Experience the magic of cinema through music at the Midsummer’s Night Organ Concert! Journey through beloved film scores from The Godfather to Star Wars, played on a 4,168 pipe Pipe Organ. This free event open to all on July 26 at 5 p.m. 

Guided Hike at Wade Mountain - Experience the Devil’s Racetrack trail. The hike starts at the Spragins Hollow Trailhead on Saturday, July 27, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Rocket City Trash Panda Games - Trash Pandas take on the Chattanooga Lookouts in the final home series of July! 

Jam Session - Valley Conservatory invites you to their monthly jam session on Sunday, July 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. Bring your instrument and join in the music! 

Shakespeare in the Garden: Romeo & Juliet - Experience Shakespeare's tale of love and tragedy with Huntsville Shakespeare at the Huntsville Botanical Garden's outdoor Amphitheatre. Happening on July 26, August 3, and August 9 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) This will be a family-friendly 90-minute version of Romeo and Juliet.
