North Alabama events October 4-6 | Happening This Weekend

There's plenty of events to enjoy this weekend.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This weekend has some events to keep in mind! 

Movies in the Park - Returns to Big Spring Park East, offering free fall-themed movies and activities on Friday nights.

October Arts Festival - A day of artistic discovery and fun on Saturday, October 5, at TGL Adventures, located at 332 Brownsboro Road. The event will feature a lineup of local artists, handcrafted goods, food trucks, and activities for kids, starting at 9 a.m.

3rd Annual Records & Retro - Takes place at The Orion Amphitheater on Sunday, October 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event features over 100 booths showcasing records, retro music equipment, clothing, and more, along with live music, DJs, and food trucks, all free to attend.

Athens Cemetery Stroll (Athens) - Explore the Athens City Cemetery on October 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. during the "Spirits of Limestone County" event, where local figures will share tales of history and lore. This is a free event. 

Madison Street Festival - On the first Saturday in October from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring arts and crafts, exhibits, live demonstrations, entertainment, and a variety of food vendors. The event will also include a community parade, sponsor row, and dedicated areas for children and teens filled with engaging activities.

Oktoberfest (Cullman) - From October 3 at 4 p.m. to October 5 at 11 p.m. for a weekend filled with German heritage, featuring lively music, cultural displays, and delicious cuisine.

International Festival of North Alabama - On Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Jaycee Community Building will host a family-friendly festival celebrating the diverse cultures of North Alabama, featuring global performances, a food truck caravan, and free children's activities.

Rocket City Scottish Festival - On October 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring vendors, food trucks, highland games, and plenty of kilts.

Concerts on the Dock - Lowe Mill A&E's Concerts on the Dock series, featuring local musicians from Huntsville, wraps up its 2024 fall season on October 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Alabama Honey Festival - The 6th Annual Sustainable Agriculture Festival will be held on October 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Alabama A&M University WTARS in Hazelgreen, Alabama, focusing on the theme “Sustainable Agriculture and Honeybees.” The event is free to the public

Yoga by the River - Every Saturday in September from 8 to 9 a.m. at Hays Nature Preserve.

Festifall - At Huntsville Botanical Garden from September through October during regular garden hours. Enjoy scenic fall displays, creative pumpkin arrangements, and the whimsical Scarecrow Trail, with activities included in general admission and free for members.

Outdoor Market - Every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., running from May 4 through October 26 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. 

Parent's Night Out - Parents can enjoy a night out while their kids have fun at a supervised climbing event, held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. The "Parents' Night Out" runs from 6 to 8 p.m. 

The Market at MidCity - Every Sunday until November 10, from noon to 4 p.m., featuring 50 local vendors.

Fun Fridays with P&L - Fun Fridays with Piper & Leaf, happening every Friday from April 26 to October 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. Enjoy an evening of activities, refreshments, and entertainment each week.

Rocket City Bluegrass Jam Weekly bluegrass jam on Sundays at Straight to Ale. Happening from 4 to 8 p.m. 

The Village of Providence Farmers and Artisans Market - Happening every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the market season runs from April 6 to November 30.
