HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Here’s a roundup of back-to-school events happening across North Alabama, as the new school year approaches, offering everything from educational classes and free giveaways to festive bashes and community gatherings.

Back to School Bash (Huntsville) July 27, 10AM-2PM

Huntsville Parks & Recreation, Huntsville Police Department, and Free 2 Teach will host a Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jaycee Community Building, located at 2180 Airport Road. Activities include dunking your principal, an inflatable waterslide, a petting zoo, prize giveaways, free sports physicals provided by HEALS, and live music. For more information, click here.

Back to School BBQ Bash (Huntsville) July 28, 3PM-6PM
