HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Charles Frye, President of CNI Solutions said, "We're trying to build that confidence into them. We've seen kids come in here kind of droopy, with their head down, but when they left they were standing up right, smilin' and cheesin' and and showing everybody their new hairstyle. We thought that was just wonderful."
Not only are these kids getting a new look for the first day of school, they're getting hooked up with a hairstyle that's meant to last...
"We need to do something that makes these kids get into school and have something going on with their hair at least more than a week or you know, two to three days." says Lashun Sales, owner of Cuttin "M" Up Beauty and Training Center.
Most students walked out with a fresh cut, like Timothy...
"A T-fade and I like it.", says an excited Timothy.
Or a protective style like Amyia, who said, "knotless, like this but it was gonna be a little... I thought it was gonna be a little bit different than the picture, but it actually turned out good."
Although today was all about the kids, this event was definitely put in place with parents in mind too.
Charles Frye, President of CNI Solutions ended with, "We don't give the community what we think they need, we asked them what they need and so in talking with the community, a lot of them said this was a big issue that they had every year. So, that's when we decided let's go ahead and do this particular event. And this way we can lessen that burden on those parents when their getting their kids ready for back to school."
