HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Alabama Department of Transportation will close left turn lanes on North Memorial Parkway at Mastin Lake Road for an upcoming overpass bridge construction project, officials announced..
The closure will begin at 9 a.m. Dec. 16 and is expected to remain in place for several months to ensure public safety.
Northbound drivers seeking to access Mastin Lake Road westbound will need to continue north and use one of several crossover points, including:
- Gilbreath Road/Stallworth Road, which offers a large, paved area for commercial vehicles to complete U-turns
- Medaris Road, which has a left turn lane
- Industrial Drive
- Winchester Road, a signalized intersection with a protected left turn signal
Southbound traffic heading to Mastin Lake Road eastbound must proceed south and either use the U-turn at the Sparkman Drive overpass or take U.S. 72 East to Mastin Lake Road.
Drivers are advised to allow additional travel time and exercise caution when navigating the construction zone.
