OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. — Pathway of Madison County has been ordered to shut down by the City of Owens Cross Roads following a riot at the psychiatric facility on Monday night.
Owens Cross Roads Police Chief Jason Dobbins tells FOX54 that they responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., where six girls were arrested and charged with inciting a riot and criminal mischief after damaging windows and computers. One girl also faces an additional charge of assault with a bodily fluid.
The six juveniles were taken to Neaves Davis Juvenile Detention Center.
Dobbins noted that the facility, which reopened in June, has seen repeated police calls. Chief Dobbins and Mayor Tony Craig have ordered the facility to cease operations by October 1st.
