HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A man has been arrested and charged with murder in the case of a missing woman.
Charles Preston, also known as "Shorty," was arrested and charged with murder in the disappearance of Sharon Michelle Copeland.
According to Huntsville police, Copeland was originally reported as a missing person by HPD and last seen June 30th, 2020. In that report her last name was given as “Hardee”. On July 27, investigators were lead to a location in Tennessee where human remains had been discovered. Those remains have now been positively identified as Sharon Michelle Copeland.
At this time, investigators have enough information to know that her death occurred in Huntsville but more work is needed to determine exact cause of death.
