HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — In June, it's Pride Month, a time when the LGBTQ+ community comes together to celebrate who they are and support each other. Across North Alabama, there are events where people can join in the celebrations and feel welcomed and accepted.
A list of events people can participate in to celebrate Pride Month is available below.
June 4
- Rocket City Pride Wine Tasting at Le Petit Bijou with Stolpman Vineyards - Taste various wines in Downtown Huntsville.
June 7
- Renaissance City Pride - Up Late At Vivian Theater in Florence will host a celebration of Drag Culture to kick off the Pride 2024 season.
June 15
- YOU CHOOSE! Pride Drag Queen Paintings - On Saturday, June 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Madison.
- Pride at Cypress Creek Cleanup - Keep the Shoals Beautiful, Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, Tennessee RiverLine, and Shoals Diversity Center will host this year's Cypress Creek Pickup and Paddle on Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
June 16
- LGBTeaQ Party - On June 16, the event will feature an art gallery, vendors, a DJ, and treats like rainbow unicorn cookies and tea. Admission to view the art gallery from local LGBTQ artists is free.
June 22
- Pride Artist Popup - On Saturday, June 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at Mill Kat Healing Arts.
- Mid month Pride show - On Saturday, June 22, at 10:30 p.m. at Maggie Meyers Irish Pub. Get ready to dance, laugh, and show your true colors in this inclusive event.
- Rocket City Pride Hike at Green Mountain - On June 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Land Trust partners with Rocket City Pride. This event offers a hike at Green Mountain Nature Preserve, covering approximately 2.1 miles over a moderate course lasting around 2.5 hours.
June 23
- Prattville Pride - Join us for Prattville's inaugural official Prattville Pride event. On June 23, the community will unite in a celebration of diversity, equality, and love.
June 28
- Huntsville City FC Rocket City Pride Night - Rocket City Pride Night will be held at Joe Davis Stadium on June 28 at 7 p.m.
June 29
- Vincent Rutherford Equality March Rocket City Pride Parade - Line up at 9 a.m. on June 29 in the parking lot across from the Downtown Huntsville Post Office. The parade starts at 10 a.m.
