Upstairs at Morris School you will find Princess Jones and her future scientists.

“I always get that science is the hardest class or that oh I can’t do this, or I am not going to do well in science, science isn’t my favorite subject,” explains Princess Jones, the Valley’s Top Teacher. “Then I love when they have that moment where they are like, oh man, I can do this, I am really good at this!”

The word “can’t” is just not in Ms. Jones’s dictionary. She surrounds her kids with positive affirmations.

“She puts the inspirational things on the wall, and right when we saw it we were happy,” says 6th grader, Diana Folgar.

“You are going to look around and you are going to see something, and hopefully you will be able to read something on my wall in my classroom and be like, hey, I really needed to read that today,” says Ms. Jones.

She says she is a little hard on her kids, but it’s because she cares about them and wants to see them succeed in and out of the classroom.

“She pushes us, she want us to learn more advanced so we can have a better job and be smarter,” says Christian Sargento.

“She motivates people to do the best work for her class,” Mariangel Cisineros, a sixth grade student.

Ms. Jones says she thinks about their future and wants to make a lasting impact on her kids.

“I want to see you grow, I want to see you succeed, I want to see you be able to fill out on application and know that you are going to get in and you are going ot be able to do whatever you want to do in life, because you had teacher that prepared you,” says Ms. Jones.

The classroom is where Ms. Jones finds purpose and she believes she was created to be a teacher.

“I have relationships with them and they know that I am going to treat them right, I am going to treat them with respect, and I am going to love them,” smiles Ms. Jones. “I am a huge fan of love, you gotta love our kids.”
