Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service, is known around the world and back home in Huntsville as ‘the man behind the mower’. But, he’s also the man behind a ton of smiles with his ‘Raising Hope' campaign.

Smith tells us the program gave away 17,000 dollars to deserving people all over the country in 2019. The program is back now, after a taking a break through 2020.

We spoke with Smith. He tells our reporter, “I’m just starting it back and looking for families in need all across the country. Whoever gets nominated, I drive to where they are and I present them with a big check. This month, starting February, I started something called a “Grocery Giveaway” and that’s when I will surprise one family anywhere in America with 500 dollars worth of groceries.”

Smith tells us an anonymous supporter is completely footing the bill for the groceries that will be given away.

You can find more information on how to nominate someone for both programs by visiting the Raising Hope website
