FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. — Lincoln County, TN Sheriff Joyce McConnell confirmed Sunday that two men who walked out of the county jail on Saturday have been captured with the assistance of officials in Rutherford County, Fayetteville, as well as the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Details of their capture were not immediately known, but the sheriff's department posted pictures of Walter Allen, Sr. and Christopher Meeks after being placed in handcuffs.
Officials said it is believed the two men were trying to work their way to their respective homes. Allen reportedly lives in Gurley, Ala., and Meeks is a resident of Decherd, Tenn.
Both inmates were in jail on drug related charges.

Two inmates are wanted by authorities after reportedly walking away from a jail near the Tennessee-Alabama border.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says they are looking for 52-year-old Walter Allen, Sr. and 29-year-old Christopher Meeks. Officials said the pair walked from the Lincoln County Jail on Saturday.
Allen is 5'11" tall and weighs about 210 lbs. with gray hair and blue eyes. Meeks is 5'3" tall and weighs approximately 150 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Police are asking the public not to approach Allen or Meeks if seen, but to call 911 or the local police with as much information as possible.
