HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Get ready for back-to-school season with Huntsville's Annual “Fresh 2 School” Braid-a-Thon hosted by CNI Solutions. Scheduled for July 28 at the Bob Harrison Senior Center on 6156 Pulaski Pike NW, this event runs from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. By appointment only, local stylists, braiders, and barbers will offer free services.
The 4th Annual Braid A Thon is for students in grades 6 through 12 and will provide braiding services, locs and retwists, and hair cuts. CNI Solutions has teamed up with Cuttin’ M-Up Beauty and Training Center.
Program leaders say they are anticipating more children this year, and they wish to ensure there are enough stylists, barbers and locticians on-hand to support the needs of the community's children.
"We plan on having backpack giveaways. We're planning on having events and games out there for the kids as well while they're waiting to get their hair styled, braided, cut, locs or retwisted," said Charles Frye, President of CNI Solutions. "This would be one less burden that they would have to deal with and this is our way of giving back to try to help those parents out."
