'Save big on fun' with the Rocket City Kids Pass

The pass includes a 20% discount to seven major Rocket City venues.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Rocket City Kids Pass, the newest discount program from the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and Rocket City Mom, makes it easier for families to enjoy the wide variety of attractions and museums in Huntsville without breaking the bank.

CVB says the pass includes a 20% discount to seven major Rocket City venues, including the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Burritt on the Mountain, Huntsville Museum of Art, U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum, Weeden House Museum & Garden, Huntsville Botanical Garden, and the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum.

"This kid's pass is not limited to visitors. Locals are eligible to use this pass, it's free and, you know, particularly as people are thinking about fall break plans, what you might be doing over the holidays, you know, if you're not comfortable traveling or you know maybe you have travel plans that, you know, got nixed, there's still a lot that you can do right here and we want people to get out and explore their own backyard," said CVB Marketing Director Kristen Pepper.

The free pass is available digitally and is instantly delivered via text and email; there is no app to download. To redeem the coupons, guests can simply present their phones to a staff member at a participating venue. Additional guidelines regarding usage are listed on each coupon.

The CVB is aiming to attract visitors seeking family-friendly destinations throughout the fall and winter seasons, particularly during school fall breaks and holidays.

The pass isn’t limited to out-of-town guests: locals are another audience the CVB hopes will take advantage of the program.

“Huntsville is a top road trip destination, especially for those who may be traveling with children or who may not be ready to fly again," said CVB President and CEO Judy Ryals.

"The Kids Pass is also a great way for our locals to get out and explore their own backyard – with so much growth and new development in the city, we encourage them to enjoy a ‘staycation’ and get reacquainted with the many family-friendly activities we have to offer.”

In addition to attraction discounts, there’s another incentive to explore Huntsville with the Rocket City Kids Pass. Pass users who check in to five attractions through December 31, 2021, will be entered to win a Rocket City getaway package for four, including a two-night stay in a Huntsville hotel, a $100 dining gift card to Melt, a Rocket City Mom and CVB swag bag and a 4-pack of passes to all attractions featured on the pass.

More information can be found on the pass' website or by contacting Kristen Pepper at kristen@huntsville.org or by phone at 256.551.2294.
