Rocket City RC hosts 18th annual 'Toys for Tots Fun Fly'

Members with the organization believe there will be a "shortage" of kids receiving toys.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — One local aircraft club is making sure kids have a very Merry Christmas this year. Members of the 'Rocket City Radio Controllers' hosted their 18th annual 'Toys for Tots Fun Fly'.

More than two dozen people signed up. People could pay twenty bucks to land their aircraft or donate a toy of the same value.

Donations will go to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in Huntsville. Organizers say the toy drive is needed.

"It's extra special now because people do not get out. They're not getting out to get toys. They're having stuff delivered. I think there's going to be a shortage this year. For us to do it, especially like this as safe as we can, then it's important for us to do it. We wanted to keep the tradition up," Toys For Tots Rocket City RC, Contest Director Al Blair.

If you missed the toy drive, you still have an opportunity to give. Go to Paypal and search for 'Rocket City RC', and add 'Toys for Tots' in the comments section when you make the donation.
