HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen in Huntsville makes nearly one thousand meals every week, and they're running low on food donations.
Theresa Wilson, the CEO of Rose of Sharon explains, "Since the pandemic started and the economy situation right now, people of all different classes are coming in to get food. Big families with children so we really need to come together and meet those needs in our community."
Rose of Sharon is open five days a week and they provide breakfast and lunch. They also give out around seventy food boxes every week. Wilson says the food that is currently in the pantry will be used within the next week.
"We feed people directly from donations that come in, and right now we are really in need of canned food items and non perishables," Wilson said.
