LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Russellville man Monday afternoon in Lawrence County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 49-year-old Matthew L. Holt was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 when he lost control, leaving the roadway and striking a tree around 3:25 p.m. on Lawrence County 50, near Alabama 101, about two miles north of Mount Hope.
ALEA reported that Holt was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The agency is investigating the incident.
