HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The 2024 Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign officially began Friday -- launched with the help of the Jolly Old Man himself.
Santa Claus accepted the first donation of the season from Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling, who was followed by a parade of donors who work at Ray Pearman Lincoln, where the ceremonial start took place.
The local chapter hopes to raise $150,000 and expects to help at least 635 families this holiday season.
Twenty-one red kettles will be set up around the city. They will include a QR code that allows donors to make an online contribution in place of a cash deposit (donations can be made through this link, as well).
